Changing Watch!

September 12, 2013

Susan & David Rockfeller and Girard-Perregaux created the "Changing Watch!" Event to be held Wednesday, September 25

Since my being attacked by cancer a couple years ago, "We Are Family" has taken on a stronger meaning. I've gotten so much help from the most unlikely people and I'm very thankful.

I'm also seeing a brave new world that depends more and more on families, people, volunteers, and altruistic corporations to help solve some of the worlds other big problems.

Be we rich or poor, all it takes to see the things that bind us together is the desire to look beyond our prejudices and egos — in an instant we can see so much of ourselves in others that it's laughable and sometimes inspirational.

My friends Susan & David Rockefeller's "Protect What is Precious" campaign to create awareness about world environment issues through creativity and innovation, is one such program.

The Rockefellers and Girard-Perregaux, the high-end luxury watch company, have collaborated in creating specific watches to promote the "Protect What is Precious" campaign. "Changing Watch" - is a nautical phrase and a play on words to incorporate Girard-Perregaux's watches with WAFF's mission to identify, support, and mentor young people who now have the obligation/duty to protect the Earth.

Susan, David, and GP are hosting one of our special "boutique" fundraisers for WAFF to support our work with teens who are "Changing Watch." Many of our teens are dedicated to saving the worlds oceans. Eight of our Global Teen Leaders will be there from 4 countries who represent the young people who will take over the "watch."

I'll do a one man show (talk about pressure), highlighting the importance of how creativity is used to change the world. I'll break down my music compositions, cancer blog, autobiography, live concerts, lectures, upcoming Broadway shows and films which are examples of this process.

World renown DJ, musician, rapper, producer, and actor Q-Tip will be spinning...to keep the celebration going at this star-studded event.

I personally thank, Girard-Perregaux, Susan & David Rockefeller, our WAFF staff, volunteers, and our Global Teen Leaders who'll be Changing Watch!
