Nile Rodgers & Esa-Pekka Salonen Win 2024 Sweden’s Polar Music Prize

Nile Rodgers has been named a laureate of the 2024 Polar Music Prize, often referred to as the "Nobel Prize of Music." Recognized for his unparalleled contributions as a songwriter, producer, and guitarist, Nile was cited for his "sophisticated" arrangements and for creating a musical language that has defined decades of pop culture.

Sharing the honor with Finnish conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, Nile joins an elite circle of previous winners that includes Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, and Quincy Jones.
