BBC | Nile Rodgers Praises "Inspiring" Work Of Woodland Trust's Young Conservationists

Music legend and We Are Family Foundation Co-founder and Chairman Nile Rodgers has praised the "inspiring" work of young people working to restore Northern Ireland's ancient woodland, after visiting the Faughan Valley to plant trees alongside representatives of the Woodland Trust. He was joined by his partner Nancy Hunt, Co-founder and President of the We Are Family Foundation.

The visit saw Rodgers and Hunt roll up their sleeves alongside local young people and conservationists, with Rodgers expressing deep admiration for the community's dedication to preserving and expanding the region's ancient native woodland.

The Faughan Valley, one of Northern Ireland's most ecologically significant landscapes, has become a focal point for restoration efforts - and for Rodgers and Hunt, whose We Are Family Foundation has long championed the connection between community, creativity, and the environment, the visit was a natural extension of that mission.

The Woodland Trust Northern Ireland, marking its 30th anniversary this year, will name a grove in the valley in honor of the Foundation. Rodgers was visibly moved by the experience:

Woodland Trust Director John Martin welcomed the partnership, calling it a powerful endorsement of the Trust's mission to protect and restore Northern Ireland's precious native woodlands for generations to come.
