I've been doing live shows almost every day this year - Here's Sting and I rehearsing for one of my events
Since the beginning of this year I've been doing tons of live events as well as making lots of records. Next month I'll be out in the Hamptons doing a couple of live events and making a few records too. This will include new songs as well as unreleased music which I've recorded since '83 while working on David Bowie's Let's Dance album.
Sometimes I can finish a record in a matter of days... other times it can take years. In the case of my "Lost CHIC Demos" it'll be decades but I'm very excited about finishing them. In the early part of my career it was common for me to work on many projects on the same day. I still work the same way today.
On August 10, I'll also take part in Author's Night at the East Hampton Library which many of my colleagues tell me is one of their favorite literary events. I'm honored my memoir Le Freak is part of this illustrious mix.
On August 19, I'll curate the 1st Nile Rodgers' Dance Party which is a charity event for AFTEE and you can GET TICKETS BY CLICKING THE IMAGE BELOW.
This is going to be a hot night of music, dancing, and partying with many of my friends coming to perform with me and my band CHIC. It's been our most successful year of live shows ever. The worldwide success of Daft Punk and the various CHIC compilation CD's has made this a very good year for my music! In fact, dance music in general is once again dominating the music business.
Though my Nile Rodgers' Dance Party will be the 1st event of it's kind in the Hamptons it's gonna smoke. Come on out and do what me and my friends have been doing all around the world this year.
In a couple weeks my entire production team will set up camp for August In The Hamptons.
