Looking at the Man in the Mirror
Michael Jackson's song "Man in the Mirror" keeps Echoing Inside My Head. Michael's voice has been Inside My Head a lot recently. That's not unusual. I sing and play "Dancing Machine" by The Jackson 5 at least once a week. I played it on my guitar while waiting to shoot our CHIC segment for Japanese TV yesterday.
Maybe I'm more aware of Michael's voice because of the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray. He's accused of the negligent homicide of Michael. It seems like every time I turn on the news they're playing the recording of Michael's slurred speech captured on Murray's iPhone. The words reminded me of something but I couldn't put my finger on it.
Today after I did my exercise routine I called Michael Cotten, the production designer of what was to be Michael Jackson's last show - "This Is It." We're discussing him designing a musical I've been composing called "Double Time." After we hung up I went to the legendary designer's website to marvel at his work. I looked at This Is It.
In the opening words of the video they talk about a show that's "Like nothing anybody's ever seen before." Those words are similar to the iPhone recording that's been hauntingly Echoing Inside My Head.
