Lady Gaga and Nile Rodgers Will Pay Tribute To David Bowie At The Grammys

Annually, the Holy Grail of music awards shows - The Grammys - has always honored the stately moment of tribute to musical icons and figures that passed away that year. 2016 has already seen a number of serious losses for the music world, with the passing of The Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey and the legendary David Bowie.

Bowie was an iconic individual not only for his music, but also his one-of-a-kind character and defiance of everything status quo. In today's modern pop world, few (if any) could match Bowie's unique boldness, but if anyone could, it would be Lady Gaga.

The six-time Grammy winner has been given the honor of paying a special tribute to David Bowie at this year's 58th annual Grammy Awards. Fittingly, Gaga will perform a tribute with Nile Rodgers, who collaborated with Bowie on 'Let's Dance' and 'Black Tie White Noise'.

Gaga has credited David Bowie as an inspiration throughout much of her career. In an interview recorded just a matter of days before Bowie's death, Gaga explained how immensely Bowie had influenced her work. "He is a true, true artist, and I don't know if I ever went, 'Oh, I'm going to be that way like this,' or if I arrived upon it slowly, realizing it was my calling and that's what drew me to him."

The Grammys airs on CBS on February 15.
