Tengo una nueva apreciación por tocar guitarra. Hace aproximadamente un año, poco después de que fui diagnosticado con una forma agresiva de cáncer de próstata, que también tuve un problema neurológico que me hizo perder fuerza en la mano. Mi mano derecha no es exactamente lo que era antes, pero está mejorando.
El año que viene voy a tocar en vivo más de lo que he hecho desde que The CHIC Organization se formó originalmente. Quiero tener una experiencia musical más completa que he tenido. Anoche tuve un gran tiempo en Berlín con los Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Hanks, Lana Wachowski, David Mitchell y otras personas de la película Atlas de las Nubes, que se encontraba filmando en Berlín. En el concierto lo pase Buenísimo.
Hoy, la gira se dirige a Mannheim, Alemania. Mientras iba en el autobús, Alison Moyet me preguntó: "¿Has considerado alguna vez tocar tus canciones menos conocidas?" Le dije: "Me encantaría".
Escribí una canción que toqué con CHIC para una película llamada "So Fine", protagonizada por Ryan O'Neal. Pensé que la película iba a ser muy sexy porque se trata de una empresa que fabrica pantalones con el trasero expuesto a través de vinilo transparente. La película no fue sexy y no les dimos la canción, pero quiero tocarla el año que viene como parte de un popurrí solo de guitarra. Creo que puede ser Buenísimo.

La Cosa Graciosa Que Hacer
Me levanté de la cama y agarré mi cámara para tomar una foto de las enredaderas afuera de mi ventana
Hoy en día, estaba admirando la vista desde mi cama en el Hotel Adlon en Berlín, Alemania. Me levanté a buscar mi cámara para tomar una foto de la vista. Estaba tan hipnotizado por la glicina escalada que no noté la conversación robusta reverberando en el patio de abajo.
Después de tomar unas cuantas fotos empecé a tener una extraña sensación que no era la única persona mirando algo. Miré a mi izquierda y vi lo que parecía ser un seminario.
Mis ojos se encontraron con un par de personas en la reunión y me di cuenta que yo estaba completamente desnudo. Esto no es raro, porque me siento más cómodo sin ropa cuando estoy solo. Lo inusual fue que estaba completamente expuesto a estos extranjeros por las ventanas largas del hotel.
Me sonreí, encogí mis hombros hombros y tomé una foto de ellos. Era obvio que no estaba tratando de ser exhibicionista y también no quería parecer demasiado sorprendido. En ese momento me pareció La Cosa Graciosa Que Hacer.

En la cama con mi guitarra, The Hitmaker
Dicen que "La música es buena para la salud", otra manera de decir que la música tiene el poder de curar. Siempre ha sido mi salvación y me he estado sintiendo muy mal últimamente.
Vi a dos médicos y me han medicado y he descansado mucho también, pero, sorprendentemente, cuando practique mi guitarra hoy en vez de dormir me sentí mucho mejor. Es posible que es una coincidencia pero puede ser todo lo bueno trabajando junto.

Una Caminata Funky en Alemania
Me fui para mi caminata en Bremen temprano por la mañana
Después de que fui diagnosticado con cáncer agresivo el año pasado, los médicos le dijeron que debería comenzar a caminar para mantener mi fuerza. Empecé a caminar en Bremen temprano por la mañana. La temperatura era excepcionalmente agradable. Es sólo un par de semanas antes del invierno, pero se siente como el comienzo del otoño.
Nunca llévo grabadora en mis paseos diarios porque tengo enorme lista de canciones incrustadas en mi corteza cerebral. Las vistas y situaciones inspiran la banda sonora adecuada y me acompañan.
Al salir del hotel "Spring Affair" de Donna Summer estaba en mi cabeza. La versión del álbum completo que corre 08:32. Tal vez porque yo estaba en Alemania, o tal vez por el clima agradable, o tal vez ambas cosas? Cuando pienso en Donna Summer es la cantante en "Oasis Records", el sello alemán propiedad de super-productor Giorgio Moroder (Hansjörg Moroder). También hizo Munich Machine "Get On the Funk Train" - la proxima canción que canté.
Cuando vi una familia alimentando unas aves a través del lago empecé a cantar "We Are The Robots" de Kraftwerk. No sé por qué, pero pienso que hacen esto todos los días. Entre Donna, Giorgio, y Kraftwerk tuve Una Caminata Funky en Alemania.
