CHICのパフォーマンス直後のスナップショット
今夜、CHICのパフォーマンス直後に、僕らはスナップショットを撮った。僕は遠くでオーケストラが ベートーベンの第五 を演奏しているのを聴いた。皮肉な事だ-色々なレベルで。
CHICのヒットの直前に遡るが、音楽界の立役者であるウォルター・マーフィー がこの有名な交響曲を素晴らしくリメイクした。それを彼は、ウォルター・マーフィーとビッグ・アップル・バンドによる"A Fifth of Beethoven (運命76)"と呼んだ。僕らはかつてビッグ・アップル・バンドと呼ばれていたが、ウォルターのスマッシュヒットは僕らの名前をCHICに変えさせる事となった。
僕らの今のドイツ・ツアーで廻る街々はニューヨークシティ「アイム・ドゥーイング・ファイン・ナウ」(のヒットで知られる)と彼らのバック・バンドであった僕らビッグ・アップル・バンド・ツアーで演奏した街々と似通っている。ちょっと薄気味悪くなる位、僕の人生は完全なサイクル(循環)だと感じるような沢山の出来事がある。
僕は、ルーサー・ヴァンドロス、、レイモンド・ジョーンズ、 トニー・トンプソン、そして特にバーナード・エドワーズ、が、この最近のCHICツアースケジュール を見てとてもおかしくてとても変だと思っていると思う。
これが僕の今のドイツ・ツアーのスケジュールだ。前回僕がビッグ・アップル・バンドツアーでやった街々と殆ど全く同じだ。
