Ein Schnappschuss kurz vor dem Auftrittt von CHIC
Kurz vor dem Auftritt von CHIC haben wir noch schnell einen Schnappschuss von uns aufgenommen und ich konnte schon das Orchester spielen hören. Beethoven's Fünfte Symphonie lief im Hintergrund. Der Zufall ist irgendwie fast schon paradox.
Bevor wir uns damals CHIC nannten, brachte das Musik-Genie Walter Murphy eine brilliante Überarbeitung einer berühmten klassischen Symphonie raus und nannte sie "Die Fünfte von Beethoven" von Walter Murphy und der Big Apple Band. Wir nannten uns damals ebenfalls "The Big Apple Band" aber Walter´s Hit zwang uns unseren Bandnamen in CHIC zu ändern.
Auf unserer momentanen Deutschland-Tournee sind wir fast in den selben Städten, in denen wir schon früher während unserer letzten Big Apple Band-Tour mit New York City ("I'm Doing Fine Now") unterwegs waren. Es ist ein fast schon gespenstisches Gefühl zu sehen, wie sich die Dinge in meinem Leben immer wieder im Kreise drehen.
Ich glaube Luther Vandross, Raymond Jones, Tony Thompson und insbesondere Bernard Edwards würden die aktuelle CHIC tour sehr lustig und sehr seltsam finden.
